Not many Goths I know, circuit the scene of the architectural world, let alone win multiple awards and accolades for their genius. When I discovered Odile Decq, I got an immediately warm and fuzzy feeling inside.  The Parisian-Breton-based architect has not only won numerous awards, but holds highly esteemed titles such as Commander of the Order of the Arts and Letters, and Knight of the Legion of Honor, establishing her as a "star architect" that celebrates a career spanning 30+ years.  Recent projects include a new expansion of MACRO (Modern Contemporary Arts Museum in Rome), with a private preview of the developments held on May 27th., 2010. Her images reveal a vision of pale-makeup and a child-like smile, huge, teased black hair, black eyeliner, and dark lips -falling somewhere between Siouxsie Sioux, and Mrs. Fiend, and every bit as charming and amazing as her masterful works. I know it's not really looks that count, but it's nice to see someone who defies the constraints of typecasting and stereotypes..Oh yeah, and check out her cool moleskine notebook too.

Allure

 Into the Night

I currently don't have any tattoos and probably never will, due to skin complications that could or could not be potentially scarring to me. (I made the decision to avoid the risk and not find out) But I can always live vicariously through beautiful images such as these. Done correctly, tattoos can enhance the body in mesmerizing ways, where the placement of the piece that just fits the curvature of the particular area is perfection, where the body comes  more alive -a canvas of soulful energy and ethereal beauty. Similar to clothing, but more permanent... There is a difference with well done tattoos vs. bad...and no amount of cover-up will enhance what should never have been in the first place...a personal ritual of the Self, a passage into the night of transformed being -the art of body enhancement is something to be mastered and not taken lightly. You've only got one skin, so make the most of it.

My New Babies

Jeffrey Campbell Rita Mesh Wedge Boots

What I love about these boots is that the wedge is similar to the wildly popular Clinic and Xmas heels (both in my collection of JC madness) minus the metal plate. The mesh is a new twist -breathable yet slim-fitting with some open-toed charm. I've always been a sucker for a hot heel with an artistry all its own -can't wait to wear these babies out soooon!
